The Knysna Retirement Village will provide state-of-the-art security systems backed-up by trained and experienced guards to ensure the safety of all occupants. Security will begin at the controlled access entrance gates; progressing with a full perimeter fence with electrical circuits and observation cameras which will be strategically placed along the fence and throughout the Village.

24-hour emergency response buttons will be installed for use by all occupants as well as intruder alarm systems in the Clubhouse and public buildings. The Village will be manned by a 24hr guard service backed-up by an armed response service.

HEALTHCARE AND SUPPORT

Services will be tailored to the needs of different categories of residents and to meet individual members’ requirements and circumstances. All occupants will have access to a 24-hour medical emergency service from a qualified nursing sister and Doctors on –call, as well as a range of clinical services available in the Care Centre, seven days a week.

In the Apartments 3 levels of medical and personal care will be provided in the form of “Assisted Living”:

1. Minimal Care: for those residents requiring only limited assistance

2. Moderate Care: will include supervision, minor assistance with daily routines as well as 3 meals a day

3. High Care: will provide almost full time care with mobility supervision and all daily routines

LOCATION

The Knysna Retirement Village is situated near the Knysna Hollow Hotel off Welbedacht Road in the low density suburb of Eastford, just five minutes from the town centre.

The 15ha property, of which 65% will be left as open space, boasts a large dam, fynbos reserves and spectacular views of Knysna, the lagoon, the river and the Outeniqua mountain range.
